PROTEST AT THE FRENCH CONSULATE
1650 MARKET STREET, PHILADELPHIA

On Friday, July 14, 2006, between 12 noon and 2:00 p.m., outside the French Consulate, 1650 Market Street, Philadelphia, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5 Philadelphia will be protesting the naming of a street in France for the convicted killer of a Philadelphia Police Officer.
The street in the Paris suburb of Saint Denis is named for Mumia Abu Jamal who was convicted by a jury of his peers for murdering on-duty Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner on December 9, 1981 at South 13th and Locust Streets, Philadelphia.
Jamal, also known as Wesley Cook, was arrested at the scene after having been shot by Police Officer Faulkner.
This protest coincides with the celebration of Bastille Day, French Independence Day.
